Museum of Breton Resistance

Saint-Marcel, in the Landes de Lanvaux, was home to the largest maquis in Brittany, where a memorable battle in the history of France and Brittany took place on June 18, 1944. Even before the Allies landed in Normandy, Free French paratroopers were dropped on Brittany, and in the days that followed at Saint-Marcel, where 2,500 Bretons gathered.
