Monument La Combattante

Monument dedicated to the sailors of la Combattante, the Forces Navales Françaises Libres counter torpedo boat that brought General De Gaulle back to France at Courseulles-sur-Mer, on June 14, 1944. This ship, offered to the French by the Royal Navy in 1942, had a tragic fate: on February 23, 1945, it was sunk with most of its crew by an underwater mine.
