Improvised defense gun, originally intended for arming armored vehicles. (Kampfwagen Kanone)
Part of a set of a dozen artillery pieces of various calibers (50, 75 and 88 mm.
Placed approximately where it is today in a tobruk. It was put out of action on the morning of June 6, 1944.
Probably the only one of its type currently on D-Day sites, and doomed inexorably to destruction by marine corrosion. It was treated and renovated in early 1994.
It is a very important part of Courseulles' historical heritage linked to the 1939-1945 conflict.
