Gigors-et-Lozeron Memorial

At Gigors on July 27, 1944, the 6th Cie Ben supported by elements of the Cie Chapoutat, resisted from morning to nightfall the assault of an enemy superior in men and material, inflicting severe losses, thus slowing the German advance against the Vercors.
After various engagements the6th Cie Ben took part in the liberation of Valence.
In memory of Jean Roussel murdered by the Die militia on July 24, 1944.
