Bombardment of Combovin

On June 22, 1944 at 7:30 a.m. the Luftwaffe dropped 80 bombs on the village of Combovin. This is followed by a terrestrial German attack supported by the militia.
There were 10 wounded, 7 civilians as well as 8 resistance fighters killed.
Then the troops moved up onto the plateau to claim further casualties, notably at the ferme des Grioles. The plaque at the far end of the terrace also cites members of the Mottet family killed later in the climb to the plateau.
