Grioles Farm

On June 22, 1944 at 7:30 a.m., 6 Luftwaffe aircraft dropped 80 bombs on the village of Combovin. This is followed by a terrestrial German attack supported by militia. Continuing their assault the troops move up onto the plateau claiming further casualties.
At the Mottet farm, Émile Mottet, his wife Louise and their daughter Marie-Louise are gunned, along with maquisards Cereda and André Lyonnet.
Then at the Grioles farm, 3 resistance fighters were killed after their ammunition ran out, the fourth was found dying at the bottom of the cistern where he was thrown after being tortured.
