B17 Fifinella crash

Stele in tribute to Lieutenant Thomas P. Smithpilot of the B-17 Fifinella of the 91st Bomb Group, 401st Bomb Squadron of the 8th US Air Force, who maneuvered after being hit by the German FLAK to enable the evacuation of his crew.
On this spot was the Incarville Calvary destroyed by the fall of an American B-17 flying fortress shot down by the German DCA, on August 13, 1944.
In memory of Lt Pilot Thomas P Smith who was killed at the controls.
