Tosny Museum Second World War 39/45
Route de Louviers D135
As soon as you enter the Route de Louviers, you'll see two German "pepper shakers" used for railway surveillance. Recovered from the Vernon railway station, these semi-mobile structures each weighed five tons. They now mark out the access path to the vast parking lot of the Second World War Museum, built ten years ago by a true enthusiast. A dream come true, but also the work of a lifetime, it features : - A large space brimming with period documents, as well as equipment such as a rare snowcat and an unusual little "Goliath" machine. - A rich collection of posters, newspapers, photographs, banknotes and coins - Authentic uniforms worn by officers, soldiers, paratroopers and women's auxiliaries from the seven belligerent countries, highlighted by some 30 mannequins judiciously arranged in showcases, to be discovered as you progress. - All in all, an enriching visit, during which you can also discover Hitler's most famous secret weapon, a magnificently restored V1.
