Néville battery

Battery coded Blankenese, the structure consists of 4 x 94 mm Vickers M39(e) pieces under M272, M158 and two Sonder Konstruction (SK) casemates, the whole protected by 3 x 20 mm Flak pieces and numerous shelters and tobrouks for machine guns. The installations are linked by a network of covered concrete trenches. Faced with the Allied advance in 1944, the occupying forces sabotaged the guns and retreated to Cherbourg.
