As part of the German raid on Brasparts (on August 16, 1944, German troops set off from Brest to liberate around 100 German soldiers held prisoner by FFI in a school in Brasparts), and pass through Le Tréhou, where they take prisoner by surprise two FFI resistance fighters from the compagnie de Plounéour-Ménez who were there, and continue towards Brasparts, where after brief fighting they manage to free their imprisoned comrades.
On the way back, the Germans passed through Saint-Éloy, then Le Tréhou. As they left the town in the direction of Irvillac, resistance fighters from the Plounéour-Ménez company opened fire on the convoy, but five of them :

Jean Abgrall,
Hubert Bozec,
Jean Kermarrec,
Albert Madecand
André Ollivier, the latter from Le Tréhou
27 are killed and the German convoy continues on its way through the Croas Guerniel crossroads where a Resistance fighter is killed.
