Stele at the former Saint-Mars-la-Brière military cemetery

Stele in memory of the 521 American soldiers  who were buried here until 1948 . This cemetery was created on August 16, 1944 by the 3rd American Army commanded by General Patton.
In addition to the American soldiers, several British, New Zealand, Canadian and Australian airmen were also buried here, as well as some fifteen men from General Leclerc's 2nd Armored Division.
