Peace Wood

The bois de la Paix classified as an exceptional Walloon heritage site, witnessed bitter fighting in December 1944 during the battle of the Bulge. Foy occupied by German soldiers blocked the way to the American troops installed in Jacques Wood. The 101st Airborne  whose Easy-Company launched the assault in January made famous by the series Band of Brothers.
Today commemorative steles bearing the soldiers' names pay tribute to these freedom fighters.
