Re 305 / Les Rospects battery

The "Les Rospects" Von Holtzendorf battery codified RE 305 at Plougonvelin a stone's throw from Pointe Saint Mathieu and the Musée Mémoires 39-45 protected, along with the Kerbonn battery at Camaret, the entrance to the Brest Narrows. From August 1942, it was equipped with 4 Krupp 150 mm guns with a range of 22 km. The casemates, now walled in, were built in 1943 to protect the artillery guns. Air defence is provided by the "Anika" support point a hundred metres away. Don't miss: a few hundred metres towards the Pointe Saint Mathieu lighthouse on the coastal path, an observation casemate in the Narrows with a breathtaking panorama.
