Hotel Meurice

Command of Gross Paris. Le Meurice is a famous 5-star Parisian palace in the neo-classical Haussmann style, founded by Augustin Meurice in 1838. During the occupation of the Second World War, between September 1940 and August 1944, the Hotel Meurice was used both as headquarters for the German Army, and as official lodgings for General Dietrich von Choltitz, Commander of Paris under the German occupation.
