Char Cromwell

The Cromwell (A-27) is a British tank that entered service at the end of the World War II. Its early versions were called Centaur and differed mainly in having a less powerful engine. The Cromwell was one of the most successful Cruiser tanks; it was also the first British armored vehicle to have both a dual-function gun, high speed and decent armor. It was the most widely used tank at the end of the war, even replacing the Sherman M4 in some units. It served as the basis for the Comet tank, another success story.
