Vercors Resistance Memorial

The Vercors is a hotbed of Resistance, during the Second World War. In July 1944, the Germans launched more than 15,000 soldiers into the assault on the Vercors, costing the lives of 201 civilians and 639 maquisards.
The Vercors Memorial and necropolis, in the commune of Vassieux-en-Vercors, preserve the memory of the "Vercors tragedy".
