Yves Talarmain

Yves Talarmain, a retired marine gunner, joined the Resistance in 1943. In early 1944, he trained new recruits in weapons handling.
When the Conquet pocket was captured, he fought alongside other FFI American soldiers from the 29th Infantry division and the 5th ranger battalion. While on patrol he came under German fire.
Under the violence of the fighting the FFI ordered the withdrawal covered by an FM, Yves Talarmain fell dead for France.
He was posthumously awarded the Legion of Honor.
