Senegalese Tirailleurs
In October 1944, almost two thousand Senegalese riflemen, ex-prisoners of war, arrived in Morlaix to embark for Dakar. 300 of them refused to return home without payment of their wages. They were interned here between November 4 and 11. Those who made it to Senegal continued to demand their pay, and suffered bloody repression at the Thiaroye camp. A tribute to them.
