Drôme FFI departmental headquarters from July 3 to August 15, 1944.
Commanded by Lieutenant-Colonel de Lassus Saint-Geniès, known as "Legrand".
Tucked away at the bottom of the valley, this hamlet offered a degree of security. The inhabitants and maquisards of Escoulin kept watch for the arrival of the militia or the Germans.
