Memorial 82nd Airborne Division

During theBattle of the Bulge, Werbomontwas the rallying point for the  82nd Airborne Division US. The first men of the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR) and 508th PIR arrive on December 18, 1944 at around 5:301 pm. Generals Matthew Ridgway and James Gavin set up their headquarters here.

In 1984, to mark the 50th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, a stele was installed on the route de Stavelot, in tribute to the paratroopers, along with a Ordnance QF 25 pounder gun, of British origin.
