291st Engineer Combat Battalion

It was here, on the evening of December 18, 1944, that the soldiers of the 291st Engineer Combat Battalion destroyed the wooden bridge that the column of panzers of Lieutenant Colonel SS Joachim Peiper was to take to reach the Meuse.
The demolition of this bridge was one of the many tasks accomplished by the 291st Engineer Combat Battalion.
