Executions Saint-Pol-de-Léon

Monument in memory of the 25 people executed on August 4, 1944.

As German soldiers left the commune and resistance fighters took a few prisoners, Jacques Decenes (19) and Paul L'Hourre (20) were shot dead by two soldiers.
At the end of the afternoon, a light armored vehicle arrives in Saint-Pol-de-Léon, the Germans shoot and then kill Henri Olier (31), demanding the release of the prisoners.

Alain de Guébriant, Alexandre L'Hebrellec, Pierre Bechu,   Jean Ollivier and  Alexandre Mérer who is only 17 are executed . Later Benjamin Danielou was also executed.
Other hostages were discovered a few days later  near the Kerdrel manor in Lannilis.
Jean-François Tréguier who was only 16 years old, Pierre Guilcher  20 years old,  Alain Tréguier, Louis Jamet, Marcel Perrot, Jean Marie Ménez, Joseph Castel, Jean Lacut 23 years old, Marcel Saillour, Eugène Guillou, Sébastien and Germain Combot, René Cueff  20 years old, Pierre Langlois only 15 years old, Paul Nicolas, Pierre Le Goffand François Fichot.
