Bellegarde Fort

The fort de Bellegarde is a seventeenth-century fortification located on the border between France and Spain, above the town of Le Perthus, in the Pyrénées-Orientales.
During the World War II, the fort became a Gestapo prison for escaped prisonersof-war, Spanish Republicans and smugglers.
