Yves Charlot and Michel Hesry stele

Yves Charlot from La Manche, born in Créances on April 18, 1905, a member of the Resistance since D-day belonging to the Miniac-Morvan group, lost his life here in Saint-Malo, along with his brother-in-arms Michel Hesry, while attempting  with an American driver and 2 other FFI (Henri Dufeuil and Louis Briand ), aboard a Jeep, to penetrate the intramural city still in German hands.

A machine gun mowed down Michel Hesry and the American driver, while  Yves Charlot,  would lose his life shortly afterwards in fighting with the Germans.
