Second Lieutenant Pierre Annic

Born here at Les Granges, Pierre Annic left his mark on the history of the Resistance. A gendarme in Vimoutiers in the Orne department, he used his position to help people escape, and had false identity cards issued and distributed to STO draft dodgers. He took part in the Resistance after the Normandy landings, and was killed on June 14, 1944 by an Allied bomb while attempting to rescue victims.
