René Tressard

René Tressard schoolteacher, was born in Quimper on October 19, 1919, he joined the Resistancewith the FTPF as soon as they were created in 1942. Arrestedon October 3, 1942 at Pleuven school by the French police, he was taken to Ernest Bourhis's bakery where he was violently interrogated. Incarcerated, tortured in order to denounce his fellow communists, he was handed over to the German authorities, who deported him to the concentration camp of Buchenwald.
In April 1945, faced with the Allied advance, he was transferred with other deportees by railcar. His train, immobilized at Elrich station, would claim his life...
