Martinvast bridge

At Martinvast bridge, on June 18, 1940, Ensign Pierre Lévy, around 30 sailors from the Cherbourg garrison, and 2 canons of 75 stopped for several hours the German colonne of the 7.Panzer Division coming from the south and charging towards Cherbourg.
Rommel will come to assess the situation before leaving to request artillery reinforcements to the rear.
The position will be bypassed and only surrendered the following day, when Cherbourg falls.
