Monument 5th Engineer Special Brigade / WN 62

Permanently manned by around thirty soldiers, the WN32 support point is one of the most important in terms of firepower of the Omaha-beach points.
Recently built (spring 1944) This bunker housed two 75mm guns Point WN 62 would be one of the last silenced points on Omaha beach at around 3:30pm on June 6, 1944 On the roof of this pillbox a monument dedicated to the 5th Special Engineer Brigade. The soldier Franz Gockel was present on point WN 62 on June 6, 1944.
