★ Corporal James Clardy.of the US army killed here on August 9, 1944, but also in tribute to the commune's liberators. According to a report endorsed by General Earnest, commander of Task Force A, Lieutenant Hamsley's column, after spending the night in the orchards near the Pen ar C'hra crossroads, was violently attacked at this very spot by two German anti-tank guns.
