Pont Charvet Memorial

At Les Côtes-de-Sassenage was founded, in early 1943, the first Vercors military committee, which General Charles Delestraint, assassinated at Dachau on April 19, 1945, came to inspect, and of which Commandant Marcel Pourchier, assassinated at Struthof on September 2, 1944, was a member.
Here fell, for freedom and for France, on August 1, 1944 at 7am, five fighters from the maquis du Vercors :

☨ Jean Prévost
☨ Charles Loysel
☨ André Jullien du Breuil
☨ Jean Veyrat
☨ Alfred Leizer

May these memories be associated with those of the children of Sassenage, who died in deportation or fell in the Vercors.
