General Richard Gale Ranville Memorial
Memorial in honor of General Richard Gale born July 25, 1896 in Wandsworth, England.
In May 1943, Gale was promoted to the rank of major-general and assumed command of the 6th Airborne Division newly created in preparation for D-Day. It was at the head of this unit that he was airborne to Normandy to protect the eastern front from the landing beaches.
