Mémorial de la France combattante

On June 18, 1960, the general de Gaulle inaugurated at mont Valérien the Mémorial de la France combattante, where sixteen bodies of combatants, from France and the colonies, rest, symbolizing the various forms of fighting for the Liberation.
During the World War II, the fort was the site of over a thousand executions of hostages and resistance fighters.
