B-17 bomber crash

It is on the war memorial that is this Plaque in memory of two airmen of the 379th Bomber Group, 526th Bomber Squadron of the 8th US Army Air Force. The aircraft was hit by the Flak  B-17 on a mission for Rouen , and crashed over the commune of Lonlay-le-Tesson on Sunday August 13, 1944. Of the nine crew members, seven managed to parachute out, but were made prisoners. Sadly, the co-pilot and a machine-gunner died in the crash.
