Plaque in memory of Squadron Leader Frederick Andros Grantham, it was during a reconnaissance mission that theRoyal Air Force pilot of the 174th Squadron, 121st Wing of the 83rd Group of the Second Tactical Air Forcewas shot down by the FLAK. At a place called "les préaux". He managed to parachute  out of his Typhoon. He was hidden for two days by villagers.
But on his own initiative he tried to join the Allied troops. It was a few kilometers away on August 17 at the village of la COURBE  that he was hit and killed by shrapnel it would seem British. He is buried in this village.
