Eugene Bennett

Plaque in memory of the crashon June 07, 1944 of a P-47 Thunderbolt, of the 56th Fighter Group, 62nd Fighter Squadron of the 8th US Army Air Force. Its pilot Eugene Bennett managed to eject, recovered by the resistance and hidden in the Courteilles area which explains his name on the Courteilles plaque.
Eugene Bennett survived the war, dying in 1996.
