Annick Pizigot

Plaque in honor of Annick Pizigot, liaison officer for the command section of the Bureau des Opérations Aériennes (Air Operations Office). She was arrested on denunciation on April 28, 1944, then tortured. She died on November 26, 1945 on her return from the Ravensbrück and Mauthausen concentration camps.

Annick Pizigot 1924-1945

Annick, only daughter of hotel owners Françoise and Albert Pizigot, joined the Resistance on March 1, 1943. A liaison officer for the command section of the Bureau des Opérations Aériennes (BOA) since June 1, 1943, alias Nickette, she was in charge of an assembly center, had a transmitter-receiver and directed container parachuting operations. She was arrested on April 28, 1944, on denunciation, and tortured.

Deported (Nuit et Brouillard) on August 2, 1944, Annick died on November 26, 1945, in the hospital in St. Gallen, Switzerland, on her return from the Ravensbrück and Mauthausen concentration camps.

On June 18, 1940, the day of General de Gaulle's appeal, Jeanne de Gaulle, his mother, and Geneviève de Gaulle, his niece, resided at the hotel.
