Occupied house

Plaque text: This house, like most others in the village, housed several German soldiers. One of the rooms, with its thickly-barred window, was used as a disciplinary cell for soldiers who had committed an offence. A German soldier was detained there on the night of June 5-6, 1944. Taking advantage of the confusion, he managed to escape. His body, dressed in civilian clothes, was found a few kilometers from the village. No one knew why or how he had been shot.
