Photos of American GI's carrying children in their arms. The soldier on the left is Lieutenant Donald K. Johnson, the other soldier is Donald Sheneman. The story goes that Lieutenant Johnson became attached to the orphaned boy and tried to adopt him. When his superiors refused, he tried in vain to adopt the boy illegally.
