The museum is housed in the casemates created in 1874. During the Battle of Dunkirk in 1940, French and Allied forces used these casemates as their headquarters. The museum tells the story of more than 340,000 soldiers who fought in the Dunkirk pocket. At the museum, you can learn more about the operations carried out at Dunkirk, through exhibitions of operational maps, as well as retrace the history of this battle through photography. Or learn more through images, with a projection room showing archive film.
