Kahl Burg

This structure served as a command post for the German army (245 and 348th infantry divisions). It was built during the year 1942, following the Dieppe landing of the Canadians during Operation Jubilee.
Mainly made by "Requis Tréportaits", Ukrainian male and female prisoners.
In 1944, it remained unfinished. Visited for a few years after the war, it was abandoned for almost 60 years. Successively looted, degraded and cluttered with garbage, it was finally taken in hand in 2001 by a handful of volunteers.
Grouped into an association (ass. "le mur de la Manche"), with a dozen or so members, it can once again be visited on certain scheduled weekends and by appointment.
