The Worthington Group

On August 09, 1944. in phase 2 of'Operation Totalize. Colonel Worthington's tanks. 28th Canadian Armoured Regiment ( British Columbia Regiment)and the Algonquin Regimentboth to the 4th Canadian Armoured Divisionwere tasked with capturing the ridges overlooking Falaise. Around Coast 140. The Worthington group distinguished itself in a fierce battle against a superior enemy. This desperate fight at the cost of courageous sacrifice remains unique in the annals of the Canadian Army.
