Polish airmen stele Stele in memory of the Polish crew of an Avro Lancaster bomber of the 300th Squadron, 1st Bomber Command Group of the Royal Air Force. Hit by flak, the aircraft crashed in the area on August 14, 1944, killing all seven Polish airmen on board; they lie buried in the Polish cemetery at Grainville-Langannerie.
