Camp des Milles Memorial Site
Between 1939 and 1942, it interned foreigners and anti-fascists of 38 nationalities, eventually becoming an antechamber to Auschwitz with the deportation of thousands of Jewish men, women and children in August and September 1942 as part of the Shoah. It is the only major French internment and deportation camp still intact, and it became accessible to the public with the opening of a Site-Mémorial on the site itself in summer 2012. Source Wikipedia
