Plaque RAF plane shot down with Paras 6th Airborne
Monument in tribute to the 18 paratroopers of the British 6th Airborne and 4 members of the Royal Air Force killed on this spot on June 6, 1944 at 1am following the crash of their C-47 .
The C-47 had taken off from the R.A.F Down Ampney in England at around 11pm on June 5, 1944, their Drop Zone was planned for Touffreville before being hit by German FLAK.
