P.F.C Clifford A. Maughan

Memorial Plaque Clifford A. Maughan P.F.C P.F.C Clifford A. Maughan of the 82nd Airborne's 505 PIR landed in the garden of this house at approximately 01:45 on the morning of June 6, 1944. He was taken prisoner by a German soldier residing here, who in turn surrendered. Clifford A. Maughan went on to fight in Normandy and Holland, and survived the war. He died in 1990.
