MacArthur Landing Memorial Park

The MacArthur Landing Memorial Park is located on the very spot where General Douglas MacArthur led his troops onto Red Beach at Palo in the Philippines. The Battle of Leyte began on October 17, 1944 when Americans, Australians fought together with the help of the Philippine guerrillas to take this estate from the Japanese. Today, the memorial recreates the famous scene where General MacArthur on October 20 1944 landed with his men.
