The Verrières forest massacre
In this place, on July 3, 1944, seven maquisards and one SAS officer STEPHENS Tomos were shoot following the encirclement of the forest by nearly 800 men including Wehrmacht soldiers, Vichy militiamen and members of the Gestapo.
