Crash P-47 thunderbolt Ginny

The Chavagne war memorial bears the name of American Captain Josep P Marr, pilot of the P-47 thunderbolt "Ginny" of the 405th fighter group, 9th US Air Force Army, which was accidentally blown up over La Noé Gérard on June 14, 1944.

Captain Josep P Marr is buried in the Saint-James American Military Cemetery (Plot D, Row 18, Grave No. 9).
