Stele in memory of the American pilot of the Lockheed P38 Lightning from the 392nd Fighter Squadron, 367th Fighter Group of the 9th US Army Air Force:
★ Capt Joseph Edward Retting, shot down by FLAK on June 18, 1944. The plane crashed near the roundabout of Rue de Bray and Rue de la Fontaine in Cesson-Sévigné.
The second plane, also a P38 Lightning from the 402nd Fighter Squadron, 370th Fighter Group of the 9th US Army Air Force,
★ 1st Lt Richard Nichols Berry, was shot down by FLAK on June 19, 1944, and crashed at the location known as La Baillarde in Cesson-Sévigné.
