Crash 2nd Lt Santo Anthony Giamalva

Stele in homage to Second Lieutenant Santo Anthony Giamalva, American pilot of the P-47 Thunderbolt from the 358th Fighter Group, 366th Fighter Squadron of the 9th US Air Force Army, based at ALG 14 in Cretteville, killed during an emergency landing at the place called Le Ménil-Angot on August 14, 1944. At the same location, there is a tribute to the Third Armored Division commanded by General Maurice Rose.
The 2nd LT Santo Anthony Giamalva rests at the Saint-James American Military Cemetery, Plot K, Row 4, Grave 22.
